I'd prefer to live in fantasy land

I'm loathe to update because I feel like a broken record. The job is getting more and more stressful, but I see no options of reducing the stress or finding something different (as I've been looking on and off for the past month or so). So, I'll keep it to myself instead.

In more distracting news, I made the 'playoffs' in our fantasy football leagues. I ended with the third seed (out of four), so I play the second seed this weekend. I have a strong feeling that my team is, in fact, fucked.

My team:
B. Leftwich QB
R. Johnson RB
E. James RB
R. Smith WR
D. Jackson WR
D. Patten WR
A. Crumpler TE
M. Stover K
D. Jets DST

His team:
P. Manning QB
C. Martin RB
T. Barber RB
K. Johnson WR
B. Stokley WR
R. Moss WR
J. Wiggins TE
S. Christie K
D. Broncos DST

The funny thing is, I drafted right before my opponent. I picked Edgerrin James with my first pick, and he snagged Manning. Advantage, him.

Man 'o man, I needed a small little hobby to take my mind off politics once and a while, so I tried fantasy football. I don't watch any games, I go off straight stats, and sometimes follow along as the game is going on nfl.com with their nice little javascripted play by play.

I got addicted to the draft process, pick all those players and teams. I did some reseach to see who was rather decent this year, and picked accordingly.

I'm also one of those people, if I see something go down during a game I usually jump on it and take a risk, like the R. Droughns, the RB out of Denver. He's had a few good weeks, Blaylock out of KC (which has come in quite handy since Holmes is out, and Drew Brees.

It's rather an interesting subject to dive into and digest, there's a lack of people around to chat with about it though.

I'm a freak about it, so anytime you want to discuss the ins and outs of Duce Staley's hamstring injury or which defense to select, just let me know ;)

I'm also in a confidence pool at work - you put confidence points on each game (from 1 to 16) on how likely you think it is they'll win. I've had most points twice and if I can move into the top 8 (I'm sitting at number 9 right now) after this weekend, I'll make the 'playoffs' in there too.

As overhyped, commercialized and silly as it is, I absolutely love professional football.

aim = twicketface

I'm winning my first playoff game by a fair margin - there's hopes for the superbowl after all!
