I've realized that I don't laugh outloud hardly at all. I'm exposed to humorous material all the time, but hardly ever chortle unless it's a result of someone in person. I long for Poker Days, as the way The Guys play off each other is a thing of beauty. Marie makes me laugh hard often. So, I'm curious if I'm the anomaly I believe I am.

The Daily Show has been giving my friends a run for their money, though.

Of all the cable shows I miss, TDS is tops on the list.

He's got John Kerry on tonight.
What the hell? When did they get clout?

[identity profile] htothem.livejournal.com 2004-08-24 02:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Kerry was the only Dem. candidate not to announce his candidacy on the Daily Show. It's the biggest news show now.

I *heart* John Stewart.

I find it interesting that people dismiss it as a 'comedy show', when the interviews are more in-depth than the traditional news shows.

And because I know it's spelled Jon shows that I truly love him more!

Then why don't you watch him every night? I do. You may love him more, but I love him more consistently.

He spoke at my sister's school's graduation. You can find the text of the speech on the William & Mary website.

That baby picture you have for an icon.

I'll avoid posting the one of me at age 4 in a plaid vest to keep you from wetting your pants.

There is one I have of Eli as a baby where he is sitting at a highchair. He has fuzzy blond hair, a chubby torso and a huge smile on his face. It's so obvious that he is ready for dinner.

Yep, now I have to go to the bathroom. :)

Toddler pictures kick all sorts of ass.

i am counting my significant other in the 'my friends' category.

I totally did too!

i only picked "pro lifers..." because my "other" choice would be stand up comedians such as the great Mr. Hicks, and, more recently, David Cross. i also tend to laugh aloud at the more progressive sketch comedy put out by the edgier comics; the Upright Citizens Brigade comes to mind, as does Cross' Mr. Show.

I never got into UCB when it was on, which saddens me as I'm now a big Amy Poehler fan.

I also take comfort in doing yard work while listening to Cross, Hicks or Black, for some reason.

Today's Savage Love was laughtastic. NSFW though.

Kid stories are always the best.

Don't tell, but I read it at work!
