The meal last night was good, but pretty expensive. Four dinners, with no appetizers or dessert and only water to drink, with tip, was $80. Do you have any idea how much Hot 'N Now I can buy for $80? I'd rather get a home fondue kit (ok, I'd make Marie buy it to avoid the taunting of Target employees) and make it every now and again.
Anyway, I came home to two mystery packages! One from Terry and Danielle (a reader's journal, a book called "Who's Your Daddy?" and a MadLibs book) and one from
so_gracefully with a very interesting looking book "The Alchemist" and Regime Change Starts at Home playing cards! How fucking rad? Very. Also, Marie let me open my presents from her (and given all that was spent this weekend, additional presents are totally unnecessary) and was pleased to see two books on Buddhism. My parents bestowed upon me the Weezer DVD and Season Three of Futurama.
jonnyv is paying for my face to face ticket in August too!
I was disappointed that some old friends apparently didn't remember my birthday, but am trying to not let it get to me. Birthdays have always been a big deal to me and I need to keep in mind that not everyone gets as gleefully retarded as I do over them. Thanks again to everyone here for the birthday wishes - it really meant a lot to me. I'm so overwhelmingly blessed in my life and have y'all, in part, to thank for it.
Tonight is cribbage with Terry and possibly a trip to Stein's for a few whiskey barrels, birdseed and a natural weapon against dandelions.
