Feels like I'm wearing nothing at all!
Apr. 19th, 2004 04:20 pm The ironing is delicious!
Don't forget
The weekend was pretty good. I left early on Friday as things were slow and it was nice out. I've enjoyed my time downloading concerts, but I'm to the point where I've downloaded too many and have a hard time keeping track of the ones I've burned. That's typical of me, so I'm not all that surprised. Also, I bought a 100 spindle of blank TDK CDs and roughly 1/2 of them have been faulty. Yeah, thanks. Anyway, I downloaded this 8 disc Neil Young set for my dad that he's quite pleased about.
On Saturday we decided to visit my parents at their cottage in Waupaca. We had a nice visit, I helped dad fix the antenna on the roof, went to lunch at a local pizza place, and played Scrabble Overturn, Balderdash and that rummy game with the chips and the felt mat. It was fun. We got home and bagged up yard clippings/leaves and I Shop-Vac'd all the windowsills. I should've charged admission, it was so interesting!
We got some work done around the house yesterday and ran some errands before going to my sister-in-law's for dinner. I spent most of the time with my nephew, William, who will be 1 next month. Marie did her best to occupy my niece, Savannah, who is turning 3 next month. Spending time over there makes me appreciate how difficult it must be for single parents. I'm excited to be a parent someday, but realize that I have a lot to learn.
Which brings us to today - I had a shitload of things to do at work. One mistake on my part (almost a year ago to the day) might lead to me telling someone slightly bad news. We have a temp that might be on drugs. Another employee is mad at my because my local boss didn't sign off on something (the typical routine is employees give me paperwork, I consolidate and give it to him to sign and then I submit the stuff to Corporate) so she'll be getting a medium-sized (less than $500) bonus at the end of this month instead of *October*. So it goes - jobs are dumb.
In happier news, I think I've got my Photo Project DVDs ready to go. I'll likely burn a trial set tonight and give them a test-run before making copies for my peeps. I've fretted over this for, well, months and now that I'm almost done I'm fretting that it won't be good enough. I need to realize that even if it's wonky, it'll be awesome.
