My body decided to make sweet love to the flannel sheets while I slept last night.
It's not that unusual, but I did have a sensual dream about a male friend when it happened. Draw your own conclusions.
Saturday was a full day - we went to visit Tim and Andrea and had quite the adventure. We got some thai food and then went to the Milwaukee Public Museum. After kicking it with the butterflies and checking out the dinosaurs, we got some hot drinks (chai and coffee) and then went to the IMAX. We saw a film on beavers that was quite interesting. They slow dance when they mate.
Saturday night was the holiday party for the corporate HR department in Milwaukee. It was held at the house of one of the higher-ups. Honestly, it was probably a $750,000 house. Her husband, who also worked with her, passed away suddenly in August of a heart attack. He was a collector of vintage pinball machines (i.e., non-digital ones). Apparently, they need to be played on a regular basis or the parts lock up or something, so she had all 18 or so machines turned on and we alternated between conversing and playing on them. The party was okay because 1) the Milwaukee group works together every day and I only work with them over the phone/email. So I felt like a bit of an outsider, and I'm sure Marie did too. Everyone was nice, but we weren't included in conversations. 2) most of the conversations were about people buying second homes and, indirectly, how much money they had. Marie and I had more in common with the hired help than the other employees, but we made the best of it.
We spent the night in a pimped out hotel and headed home on Sunday. It was weird coming to work today. I checked my work email from home a few times between Wednesday and Sunday, so I wasn't too overwhelmed, but there's a lot of busy work to do. Story of my life, I suppose.
I've been up and down lately in terms of my mood. Riding home from Michigan, I was in the best mood. Yesterday, I was crabby. Today, I'm feeling run down. It's times like these that I wish I could fit into a bathtub.
I got the following email from a co-worker today. It makes my head hurt:
Brian,
I work on make some of the changes Amy mentioned this afternoon.
