Corporate Walnut
Jul. 3rd, 2003 02:57 pmTerry and Danielle came over last night for a visit. We had a nice visit and got some cribbage in as well. Terry took the lead, but I have a feeling that our trip together next weekend will result in victory for yours truly. Lordy, I love playing cribbage.
My evalution yesterday was pretty great. All positive and very helpful. The partner-in-charge is pretty laid back and trusting of his staff, which is nice. He keeps me in the loop when I need to be and stays out of things that he really doesn't have time for. It's a pretty good working relationship.
I was on public radio again this morning - the topic was marriage counseling and about how couples should go through counseling before they get married. Marie and I did, and my parents were 'counselors' for a number of couples through their church. While I had zero doubts about Marie and I, it was a worthwhile process to undergo.
The house is coming along quite nicely. My dad is coming over to help with some minor improvements and I hope to have my brother and his family over soon too. I haven't talked to him in almost a month and am disappointed he hasn't contacted us yet. As sad as it is, I don't think we'll ever be remotely close.
My motivation for the day has all but dried up. I need to get my oil changed and will probably be leaving around 3:00. Here's you, giving a crap.
I'm going to go on a bit of a CD burning frenzy. I'd like to make cds of Alkaline Trio, Foo Fighters and The Dismemberment Plan containing all of their non-album tracks. I've become entranced with SoulSeek for file sharing (up yours, Orrin!) and have found quite a bit of rare and live tracks. My opinion is, since I've purchased all of the albums for the aforementioned artists, grabbing a few extra songs isn't a big deal. If they have them available for download, I'd gladly pay for them individually. But to purchase a soundtrack or import CD for $20 to get three songs is ridiculous. So anyway, I've got a lot of good stuff and will also be putting together the Life of Brian, Volume IV soon too.
This made me snicker.
