***I had a dream about
so_gracefully last night. Maybe because I just sent her a CD she was on my mind? Like you know.
It was about her singing or giving a speech. I missed it, but saw it on a re-run or something. There was a still photo, like in a newspaper with her seated in an airplane at the museum where I work. I was mad that she was here and I missed her. Later, I was reading a program of the performances and her symbol was the smiley face from the Summerfest logo (http://www.summerfest.com). Then I was back at work, but it was a huge building, like a high school. Someone I recently hired (in my dream, not in real life) yelled out that I was, indeed, "fine". I went down some stairs and then woke up.***
Last night Marie and I went to a presentation about Black Thursday (November 21st, 1968), which played a large role in civil rights and increasing recognition of black rights. The place was packed when we got there, but later found out that quite a few were there because they had to be. I didn't have the best seat (sitting on the isle) and the kid right next to me (who was in my field of vision the entire night) kept either a)picking at his pimples, b) yawning or c) cleaning his glasses. I have no reservations about people cleaning their glasses, but he chose to lick the lenses and then polish them with his shirt. There's only so much I can stomach.
Anyway, Black Thursday was a day when tensions boiled over and the university was held responsible for promises made to black students that they never lived up to. 94 students were arrested and of those, 90 (all black) were expelled and the 4 white students were suspended for the remainder of the semester (at the time of the hearing, amounting to missing one day of school). I'm not doing it justice, so go here if you want to learn more (http://www.uwosh.edu/archives/bt/foreword.htm). It's one to grow on.
We hit up the grocery store afterwards and then home. I talked with Eric about wedding plans (like, getting a tux either today or tomorrow) and such. I'm going to have Marie take a look at my best man speech tonight to get her take on it. I'm nervous about it. I like public speaking, but still get nervous when I'm talking. I'll try to not fuck up too badly.
Tonight will be spending time with LBEric and probably getting stuff ready for the wedding. Yee haw, I'm starting to get quite excited about it.
I just got back from trying on my tux and guess what(should that sentence end with a period or question mark?)./? The coat sleeves are too short! I go back tomorrow after they let them out a bit. Everything else (even the shoes) fit nicely. Will wonders never cease?
( Time passes by like lightening )
