And bring your stupid friends along
Jul. 31st, 2002 12:38 pmIt came to me in an epiphamy, a few days before returning to the office. As I sat at the refund window and looked out on a sea of campers and tents, one re-occuring theme hit me. 1-800-RV4-RENT. How awesome would it be to take a 10 day trip with "the guys" out camping. Yellowstone, Glacier National, etc. for a week and a half. Bonding time and an adventure to boot. Smores and hiking. Trying to pee while on a moving vehicle and the inevitable experiences that become rock solid memories. With the exception of Marie, I can think of no better way to spend time and money than with my friends. This idea will be put into the 2004 file for further consideration and extensive planning.
For the past few days, I've had the urge to talk on the phone. Last night, those urges were fulfilled. I spoke to my mom, Terry and Jeremy. It was nice to catch up with all of them. Marie and I are visiting my parents on Thursday night before we head out to Seattle. Terry updated me on the apartment situation. They need to be out on August 5th, so he'll be moving to Danielle's parent's house this weekend (after driving us to the airport). Jeremy and Kristie are all moved into their house and Jeremy and I planned his bachelor party. Jeremy also spoke of having a poker day at the new house in West Bend soon. All in all, a productive night.
I just found out that the DeSoto label is closing down later on this year. Makes me wonder what lucky label will get to snatch up The Dismemberment Plan. Interesting.
Right now my boss, a co-worker and their collective bosses are having a meeting (in hushed tones, with the door open) in an office right in front of me to discuss how to divy up my boss's work since her last day will be next Friday. It irks me on many levels that I'm not included in this meeting. And that they don't have the courtesy to shut the door.
