Interview from [livejournal.com profile] acaciablack
1. When did you meet your wife and how did you know she was the one for you?
Marie and I met in college during my sophomore/her freshman year. She lived three floors above me. We got to know each other through hall government and soon spent time together one-on-one. She was engaged at the time, so it made it easy to be friends. We would spend hours just talking and I felt so comfortable around her. She was having a hard time with her fiancé (who was in the Army at the time) and my 'protection' mode kicked in. I wanted her to open up to me, since she didn't feel she could with him. Eventually, she realized that she wasn't in love with him anymore and was in love with me. She broke it off and we started going out. (see more below)

2. Do you remember your dreams? If so, do you have any recurring themes and what are they? If not, what do you think you dream about?
I don't have recurring dreams, but one of my most recent dreams was involved going back in time to 1995 and meeting the Foo Fighters. I remember explaining to Dave Grohl about September 11th (using my notebook to represent the WTC and my fist to represent the plane) and how John Ashcroft was taking our civil liberties away. I don't remember why he cared, but he made me feel like he was going to do something to prevent it. The rest of the band was painting pictures on the walls of their practice space.

I should really keep a dream journal.

3. What is the ideal job for you and, if you do not currently have it, do you have plans of pursuing it?
My ideal job is undefined. I'm not into having a career and progressing 'to the top' - I'd rather do work that I enjoy and can make a living on and see where it takes me. I'd eventually like to write in some capacity, but that like would require further schooling/training.

4. Do you play an instrument? If not, what would you most like to learn and why?
At one time, I was average at the trombone. I'm less-than-beginner at the drums. I'd like to learn to play the drums well someday. The playing I did with my friend Brian gave me more insight into drums and now I hear things I didn't before when listening to music. I think drummers get a bad rap. Dave Grohl is my hero.

5. What is your most remarkable/interesting/peculiar skill?
I'm very good at most board games/game shows. I can listen to two conversations at once. I can twist my arms in a strange fashion, so as to make other people wince. I'm good at hugging.

1. how old were you when you lost your virginity? what was the occasion and did you use contraception?
November 15th, 1998 - I was 20. Marie and I started officially dating (I'm sure you saw the ceremony on CNN) on May 14, 1998 (coindicentally, the same day the final Seinfeld aired). We hadn't so much as kissed beforehand, so we took things slowly. We spent the night in my dorm room (on a bed that I barely fit on by myself) and the next morning made sweet, sweet love. It was the most pleasurable thing I'd ever experienced and I clearly remember strutting to the community shower afterwards. I could think of nothing else for the next 48 or so hours. Marie was on the pill at the time.

2. what is your most favorite thing to eat?
Microwave popcorn for a snack. Pizza for a meal.

3. if you saw someone mistreat their child on the bus, what would you do?
I don't think I'd intervene for fear that I'd make it worse. I might try to distract the parent, but in all honest I think I'd just mind my own business.

4. do you sit or stand when you pee?
At work, I use the urinal, but at home I prefer to sit down. Cleaner and gives me a chance to pet the cats.

5. describe an incident when you cheated.
In college I took a geology class that had a lab section. We had to identify these rocks and I got some of the answers off my neighbor's paper. I studied before the test, but it was difficult. Not a good excuse, but the one I'm sticking with.
