twicketfaceSigh. This is beyond belief and horrendously tragic of an event, but I can't say that I'm surprised. The United States is a bully, pure and simple. When you push around smaller countries, do not be surprised when they strike back and get angry. I am in no way justifying what they have done, but we cannot continue to strut our stuff as the most powerful nation in the world without fearing repercussions.
The United States government (mostly, GW) is already calling for war without even knowing who is responsible. If we are to blame bin Ladin, let's just hold our horses and see who is connected to it. Usually, with terrorist attacks, the terrorists claim responsibility right away (it's a way to get recognition and take credit for the destruction). How come no one has said "Yeah, fuck the US, we did it"?
More bloodshed will in no way erase or nullify the horrific events of yesterday. Bombing Afghanistan is NOT the answer. Death is NOT the answer. Two wrongs do not make a right people, they never have.
If you can, please donate blood. 1-800-GIVE-LIFE. If my website editor was working, the number would be on there too, but sadly, it's not. Spread the word. Retaliation is not what is in our best interest. We are still in the heat of the moment and not thinking clearly, as a nation. Rambo, go back to sleep. We don't need you.
I encourage everyone to call your friends and family and realize that it could have very easily been anyone one of them or even you involved in this tragedy. Life is short and frail. Love early and often and know that we will get through this dark period in our nation's history. If anything, I'm hoping that we will realize how our government did bring this upon ourselves and it will lead us to a new era of peace and cooperation. Please, pray with me.
