About a month ago, I moved to a different office at work. This one has an adult-sized desk, about 1/3 more room, is quieter and has a full sized bookcase. The temperature in my old office was usually ok, but my current office is always sweltering. We are in an older building and I didn't think much could be done about it. A maintenance guy for the building just stopped in and asked me about the temperature. I told him if my balls were drooping any lower, you'd be stepping on them! it was usually warm in here. He went over to this mechanical box on the wall with numbers on it and told me that the temperature in here was set all the way up (to 90). He adjusted it and I can already tell a difference.

I guess my point is, most people are smarter than I am.

...ooooooor, you have loftier things to consider than a lowly thermostat!

I've only been back at work for two days and I've discovered that they haven't figured out their thermostat problems yet. According to some older employees, when our office was first built it had walls. It had rooms. It had offices. Now it is one big long room and some cubicles. There are different temperate zones and people wander from one end to the other to regulate their body temprature.
Last year for charity they auctioned off control of the thermostat for a day. They made a TON of money.

A little from column A and a little from column B.

That's a great way to raise money, but also kinda sad.

They should hand out temperature maps to new employees.

There's a lot of things about my job that are great in theory, but sad in actuality.

I used to have a map of where everybody sat and we had names for the different areas... right now I sit in "Alaska".
