Life is good. Confusing, but good. I've been in a strange state of mind lately. I feel, with this new job, I can accomplish anything. Initially I thought it was way out of my league, and I simply fooled the interviewers into believing that I was better than I am. I now realize that my skills haven't been given a chance to grow and I can make this place remarkably better, given time and coaching. I've not been this happy to be 'at work' for a long time.

Marie was gone Saturday so I spent the day with the television, back issues of The Sun and the computer. I realize I need to start logging either less television or computer time. Too many open-mouthed stares for my well being.

Saturday night Jon and I got together with Terry for some cribbage and a viewing of An Evening with Kevin Smith. And I thought his movies were funny, this double DVD set is awesome. Will be the first DVD I get when the lure of a DVD player finally takes over me. We played lots of cards and swore at each other a lot. It was a good evening. I picked up the Audioslave CD, which is beyond great and a spoken word by Howard Zinn about how Hollywood propagates the lies of the media in movies and television. Forgot to bring it to work, but will be tomorrow.

Since I didn't get home from Terry's until after 2am, Sunday didn't start until about 11:00. Made some breakfast for Marie and me, got showered and got groceries. Getting groceries on a weekend is about as much fun as a papercut on your privates. Never again.

After that we senselessly went shoe shopping for myself in Appleton before the SuperBowl party. Nothing in stock but a few options for ordering. Stopped at the World Market and got some tea and veggie chips. Went to Eric and Lori's for the party and had a nice time. Terry was just arriving as we were. They got a fondue set for Christmas so we had chocolate and fruit, along with taco jazz, chips and pizza. The game sucked royally, and Marie and I ended up leaving around 7:45. Like I need to see Warren Sapp dance around.

Got home and pretty much called it a day. The lack of sleep on Saturday was catching up to me.

Today has been pretty good so far. I've got more training in about half an hour and then off to a haircut tonight. I've got a load of ironing to catch up on too. I'm still not sure if they track internet usage, but it's hard to stop cold turkey. I figure 20 minutes a day isn't too much to ask.

I also need to start writing more. Not journal entries, but more indepth thoughts or ideas. I'm going to use The Sun's guidelines of topics and hopefully come up with more on my own too. I don't think two topics per month is too much to ask, and maybe I can put out a little zine or something. But probably not.
