Lonely as you
Jan. 24th, 2003 09:09 pmI'm back.
After some serious doubt about the new job, I've made up my mind that I totally love it. And I haven't even had to do anything yet. Four days in Milwaukee was ok, but not great. Let's hit the highlight reel:
-They had me stay on the 'Executive Level' hotel floor, which required a key for access (like James Bond - and also my office in Oshkosh is known as office number 007 internally, which proves my theories) instead of just pressing the button. It was beyond neato.
-The first person I met in Milwaukee was a girl I graduated from high school with. I remember her as being in the preppy crowd, but she was extremely nice and helpful.
-Milwaukee has a lot of good vegetarian food. I had tofu prepared a way I never had it before (it was cubed hash brown consistency) that was way great.
-I did a lot of reading and asking questions and it was okay because a lot of the people working in Milwaukee are new too.
-I missed Marie a lot, it was very nice to finally get home.
I spent today in 'the office' and everyone is very nice. With it being 'tax season', I expected it to be quiet and stiff, but it was actually quite boisterous and a buzz with energy. I suppose it might have also been due to it being Friday.
That's all for now. My office is nice, but a little uncomfortable for a behemoth like me.
I'll cope.
