Changin' Donnie to Marie Osmond
Dec. 16th, 2002 03:17 pmOk, I promise to take it easy on the polls. Sorry 'bout that.
Friday - Marie got home late from a meeting, so I watched some television and cleaned up the apartment a bit. She got home and we watched the first Harry Potter movie. Better than I remembered, and better to know what to watch for the second time around.
Saturday - I arose early and went for a workout at the Y, a car wash and sending out two packages.
reject, you are forewarned. And I forgot to grab one of the CDs I was going to send you (Initial Records sampler), so that'll be next time. Also sent out my non-f2f CD, hopefully to rave reviews. Came home and had some lunch. Discovered an overdue library book and dropped it off before making it over to see Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. I liked it, but not as much as the first one. Dobie just irked me. He wasn't as annoying in my head as I read the books. Made our way back home and farted around before meeting Terry, Danielle, her parents and Brian for dinner to celebrate Terry's graduation. It was quite nice. We went back to Appleton for cake and some conversation before calling it a night. Marie had to get up early for a Big Brothers Big Sisters presentation at Sunday School.
Sunday - Marie was up and out the door around 8:30. I have some breakfast and get into the usual ESPN routine. Marie comes home shortly after 9 and we head over for church. After the service, we get groceries and remember when we never shop for groceries on the weekends. We get home and have some lunch before Marie falls asleep on me. I tuck her into bed and proceed to get my NFL on. Hell yes. Decide to sit Brad Johnson in favor of Tom Brady and hope it's the right decision. My fantasy team did remarkably poor but I managed a 40-36 lead against
jonnyv going into Monday night's contest (I've got Brady and he's got Eddie George). It's looking good, but you never know. My dad is winning by 8 points and his opponent also has George, so we've combined forces to have his ankle sprained or something close to it so he can't play. I already hate the Titans for routinely smiting the Jaguars, now they might smite the Throbbing Manhood. Not if eleventh-hour prayer has anything to say about it. For dinner, Marie and I tried the vegetarian buffalo wings and are sorry we did. They tasted really good but were incredibly spicy. Like your mouth is on fire for a prolonged period of time. We hit up the milk and plain bread to try and balance things out. I now consider having popsicles in the house a necessity, like a smoke alarm or fly swatter. We both had stomach aches this morning and dates with the toilet, for lack of better imagery.
Today's been a pretty good day. I have a second interview at 4:30, so I'll be leaving shortly. They've contacted my references and are verifying my diploma and such, so I'm assuming there is a pretty good shot that I'll get the offer. Last night I was feeling like I wasn't qualified or that the job would be too hard for me, but I talked to my dad and he has a way of making me feel pretty smart without coming out and directly saying it. My dad rules. Also have to call LBEric tonight to see about plans this week. I'm thinking he'll want to go the Nintendo route, which will be fine. I can school him in Yoshi and the ego boost always helps.
Maybe there should be a law that if you can't run for president if by getting the job you would be taking a pay cut.
I put in a bid for Shadow Warrior today on eBay. It's like a Kung Fu version of Duke Nukem and was only like $6. I'd feel guilty, but I get a lot of mileage out of my computer games. Well, except for the Sims. Anyone want to buy it from me? I was addicted for a while, but I don't like the controls. 'Life' moves too fast for me.
