Watching PowerPoint presentations of the towers being destroyed is REALLY accelerating the healing!
I managed to mostly avoid the river of crap yesterday and was most likely labeled a traitor at lunchtime. A large group of employees had a gathering outside with a lunch in honor of You Know What. I was calmly sitting at the lunchroom, eating my sammich and reading when they returned. I felt a few glares but ignored them. I don’t understand that mindset at all. I could go on and on, but I won’t.
Headed to Terry’s last night for some cribbage. Since my car has been making geriatric noises as of late, I took Marie’s car. Despite it being smaller inside, I love taking Marie’s car. Her power windows work well. She has a stereo with CD player. She has a sunroof. And so forth. I took advantage of all three, blasting More Noise and Other Disturbances through the mean street of Appleton. Upon arriving, I was attempting to close everything up and I notice the sunroof wouldn’t close. This is the same sunroof that “broke” last summer and we paid $125 to get it fixed and haven’t used it since. Frustrated, I went inside and called Marie to let her know she needed to take her car in.
Played quite a few games of cribbage with Terry and unfortunately lost some ground. He skunked me once and the standings are now 14-9 (where as they were 12-5). Didn’t have a lot to talk about since we’ve seen each other a lot lately, but still had a nice time.
I left and tried the sunroof again and it closed without a problem. I think I was pressing the wrong button or something the first time around, but now we’re hesitant to use it at all. More features, more problems.
I’m trying my hardest to conjure up some honey-roasted peanuts, but to no avail.
Tonight Marie has a meeting for suicide-prevention, so I’ll be calling Carrie B and finishing Monkey Island I. Also will futz with the tripod and see if I can get it to work with the camcorder. Hope to get Brian’s interview done next week and keep rolling onward.
