I hope you never see me wind up...

Yesterday was a pretty good day, except I messed up at work. I was supposed to set-up a meeting and there was a miscommunication and it was pretty much all my fault. No big deal, it got rescheduled for later this week, but I never completely mess up on anything, I’m usually really good at follow-thru and staying on top of things, but to no avail. So two demerits against me, I guess.

I dropped off my car in Neenah to get the once over and found out that I needed 3 new tires and new front brake hoses. So in essence, my tax advance and then some is already spent. Oh well, for a 12 year old car, it’s still going pretty strong and is duct-tape free. I just hope it stays that way for another year or two. Marie and I went to pick it up yesterday afternoon and then came back to Oshkosh.

Had some supper and watched some television and then over to the guy’s place for the MNF game. Go Packers, looked pretty excellent for the second week in a row. Now, if they can beat a good team, I’ll really be impressed. Also, I won my fantasy game against Jon. He had Favre and Longwell while I had Schroeder. The points Schroeder scored was the margin I won by, so apparently God hates Jon and favors me. I slept pretty well last night as a result.

Today was pretty boring at work and while I’ve got some good projects I can get done with my refocused priorities, I simply lack the desire to do them. I worked on a few of them a little bit, but nothing too dramatic.

Tonight is Take Back The Night, a non-violence get together on campus that Marie and I will be attending. Tomorrow will be visiting my brother, picking up my tax advance check from my parent’s house and off to Best Buy to purchase scanner #3 in 6 months. Here’s hoping this one lasts a little bit longer than the last two. And those fucking morons at the rebate center actually wrote out a store credit to Brain Martin. I called and explained to them TWICE that they had my name incorrect on the mailing label they sent me to put on the scanner to send it into them, but obviously, to no avail. I think Thursday I’ll be whooping it up with some more Madden 2002 (yo listen) with my team, the Seahawks.

Random thoughts of the day:
You know, if hackers would arm themselves with dictionaries or Writer’s Inc. books, there would be a lot more computer problems in the world.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a virus or potentially damaging message without 2 or 3 words misspelled or poor grammar. Wouldn’t you think that someone intelligent enough to write a software virus program would also be smart enough to follow basic rules of the English language? Don’t get me wrong, I think virus creation is putting a potentially great talent to waste, but a little more thinking could get a lot more done.

And I, for one, am plenty tired of seeing all of this Pro-American bullshit revolving around every football game and news broadcast. We should be reflecting on the actions that the US committed to make the terrorists so angered and take steps to make sure we don’t do it again instead of flying the flag and flaunt our patriotism.

I think I’m crabby today. But don’t tell me I’m crabby, or I really will get crabby.

Ice water tastes good. Really, really good.

And I'm feeling quixotic just so you have to look it up.
