I’ve got onion breath
My wonderful wife called me at work and brought subs for us to share at lunch while at work. We each had a great veggie sub with honey mustard, and the onions were nice and strong. So I’m hoping I can find a breath mint and not offend anyone.
Last night Carrie B came into town, but I didn’t have a chance to talk with her much. Eric and Terry got the go ahead to move into their new place, so I headed over there last night after supper to help out. Their apartments are brand new and pretty nice. It’s a two story place, with the bedrooms on the top floor and the kitchen/living room/laundry/etc on the main floor. It’s really nice and I think they are really going to like it there.
When I got there, they had most of their stuff moved in so it was more the arranging/putting of things away than any heavy lifting. Eric and Lori were there when I got there, hard at work. Later on I called Marie and Carrie had indeed arrived and they headed over as well. By the time they got there, Terry and Danielle had returned from Terry and Eric’s old place with a van load, so it was a full house. But not the Uncle Joey type.
So anyway, helped unload the van and put some stuff away. I rode over with Terry and Danielle to load up the van again with stuff from their old place. Funny how crappy their old place looks compared to the new place but the same with how our old place is a dump compared to the apartment we’re in right now. Everything is relative.
We left around 10:45 to go back home and get some sleep. The guys know that Marie and I are usually in bed by 10:00, but most of the stuff was taken care of already. Felt good to go to bed, I’ve been tired lately.
Tonight Eric and Lori are coming over to watch the Packer game and I think Marie and I are going to go to the library after supper to get some books for the weekend. We’re going to Eagle River (remember, dear reader?) and it’s always a good time to curl up with a good book. I want to get the latest Harry Potter (I’ve got about 30 pages of the 3rd one to finish), some Huxley, Vonnegut and books on Rasputin. Variety is the spice of life.
Random thoughts of the day:
I made some bug spray with vegetable oil, water, cayenne pepper flakes and dish soap in a squirt bottle to get the spiders that like to live outside our patio door to move. So far, all the bug spray has done is leave marks on the wood and pavement outside our apartment. Lesson learned?: Never trust the Internet.
I’m still waiting for a package in the mail. Hooray for mail.
I’m anxious to start on the Madden 2002 tournament with Terry, Eric and Brian. I’m beyond into that video game and at times, it really scares me.
Microsoft Word’s grammar editor totally and unbelievably sucks ass.
